Troubleshooting an oL1 (Motor Overload) Fault

An oL1 fault will occur when the output current (U1-03) exceeds the motor full load current (FLA) set in parameter E2-01. This is also based on the motor overload characteristics set by parameters L1-01 and L1-02. The drive protects against motor overload with a UL-recognized, built-in electronic thermal overload relay. This function monitors motor temperature based on drive output current and time in order to protect the motor from overheating. When the electronic thermal overload trips, an 'oL1' fault occurs, shutting the drive output OFF and preventing excessive overheating in the motor. Read More
